Timeless Games: Royal Ur is a small indie project. Bug reports, suggestions, and notes from the past 4,500 years of Royal Ur enjoyers are all welcome — and replies come from a real human, usually within a day or two.
When reporting a bug, it really helps to include:
- Your device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro, iPad mini 6).
- Your iOS / iPadOS version (Settings → General → About).
- What you were doing when it happened.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can grab one.
Frequently asked
- How do I reset my level progress?
- Open Settings from the menu, then tap Reset progress. You'll go back to Level 1 (Apprentice).
- Why is the game free? What's the catch?
- No catch. Version 1 ships with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no tracking — the whole game is yours from the App Store. A small optional tip jar may appear in a later update for those who want to support the next ancient game.
- Will you add online multiplayer or Game Center?
- Not in version 1 — it's solo against the AI or local pass-and-play with a friend. Online play is on the list for a future version, no promises on timing.
- Where does the name "Dilmun" come from?
- Dilmun was a Bronze Age trading civilization on the Persian Gulf mentioned in Sumerian texts — a quiet, peaceful place where the gods were said to live. It felt like the right name for a tiny label making games about the ancient world.
- Will you add more levels, or harder AI?
- Level 14 (King) is already the toughest the AI gets — it makes essentially no mistakes within its 800 ms search budget. If you're consistently beating it, write in and brag.
- Are you working on other ancient games?
- Yes. The plan is for Timeless Games to grow into a small catalog of ancient classics — Mesopotamian companions to Royal Ur first, and a separate Timeless Games: Egypt app with Senet, Mehen, and Hounds & Jackals further down the road.
